We are His portion & He is our prize

“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” -Ephesians 4:1
We are called to be God’s portion.

What does it mean to be God’s portion?

What an unfathomable thought that we were called, chosen, and set apart before we were even born. Before we impressed anyone, failed anyone, won, lost, sinned… anything. It’s hard to really wrap your head around the fact that such a creator and a savior chose the constantly disappointing selfish human race to be His portion. It is hard to believe that you don’t have to fight for a place at the table.

You don’t have to fight for a place at the table.

I suppose the question that poses is: What are you going to do with the place you were given at the table?

Today, I am thinking about what my purpose is as a Christian. What a
m I called to do – how am I called to live – as a daughter of a king?
Well, I guess the easiest way to put things is: He chose us in the hope that we would make Him our prize.

God chose us in the hope that we would chase Him. to strive to love people with unconditional unbounded love and to reflect His glory with our actions. When we realize that we were chosen to be His portion, that He lives with us AND within us – we realize how worthy our lives are and how freaking crazy it is that have the privilege of showing God to others here on Earth.

Today, I am learning to focus more and more on what it means to be chosen – to live a life worthy of my calling. God is so present in the most beautiful details and tiniest coincidences and sometimes I forget that. What a crazy thing it would be if the smallest details of my life began to reflect my faith in the crazy God who chose me.
